How to grow the card market in your country

Collectors from your country are already here — the numbers below say how many. What is missing is not people but filled-in shops: nobody messages a seller with no country and no prices. The four steps below take an evening, and after them people start finding you.

Why the market looks empty

It is not that nobody is here. People from your country do visit — most never create an account, and of those who do, only a handful get as far as listing a card. The table below shows all three steps, country by country.

Countries here come from login addresses, not from what people put in their profiles: most never set one, and counting by profile hands Russia thousands of other countries’ collectors. The analysis separates home from VPN, leaves out bots and blocked accounts, and refreshes twice a day. Countries in the analysis: 148

The table is sorted by the last column — by who you can actually buy from. The top row is not there for comparison but as proof that this works: a country market grows exactly this way, out of filled-in shops that eventually became many. The further down a row sits, the more people that country has with nobody to buy from.

The distance between the first column and the last is your entire market. It closes with a filled-in profile, not with advertising: someone who arrives and finds no local seller at all does not come back.

Four steps

The first three are mandatory: skip any one and the rest stop working. The fourth is what the first three were for.

Fill in your shop terms Where you ship, how, from what order value, and how long it takes. This is the first thing a buyer reads before messaging you. Blank terms read as "does not ship" — and they go to someone whose terms are filled in. Terms live on your profile.
Put your real country and city Mandatory. At sign-up your country is filled in from your IP — guessed, not chosen, and often wrong. Country drives the market filter and the "my country first" sorting: while your profile names the wrong one, a buyer in your country simply never finds you. City is optional, but it shows at a glance that shipping will be local. Settings → Location.
Put a price on every card you list Mandatory. You can list without a price, but priced cards come first in the feed and in market listings, while a silent "ask me" gets scrolled past. The site suggests market prices and can apply them in bulk: a whole collection takes an evening, not a card at a time. Where prices come from.
Share the link to your shop On your own social media, in local collector chats and groups, among friends, in the description of your listings elsewhere. The link should point at your shop, not at the homepage: people should land on actual cards, not on the front page of a site they do not know.

The first three steps are not advice, they are the condition for being visible at all. A profile with no country and no prices reaches neither the country filter nor the market listings, however good the collection itself is.

What it gives you

Not fast, but reliable: a filled-in shop keeps working while you do nothing.

The first one takes everything While a country has only a handful of sellers, all the local demand goes to whoever is already set up. That advantage disappears once there are many.

The people you bring are your own buyers A collector who arrives through your link collects the same series. Your dupes are the first thing they see.

The market compounds The more filled-in shops a country has, the more often people from it come back — and the more sellers appear. After that it runs without you.

Questions

I only have a dozen dupes — is it worth it?

Yes. In a country with three sellers, ten priced cards get found faster than a thousand unpriced ones. Starting small works better here than waiting until you have a "proper" selection.

Do I have to give my city?

Country yes, city no. But a city answers the buyer’s question about delivery time and cost right away, and inside one country that is often what decides it.

I would rather agree on the price in chat — do I have to set one?

You can list without a price, nobody forbids it. But priced cards come first in the feed and in market listings and feed the set statistics, while an unpriced one is only seen by someone who reached your shop on their own. It is easier to set a reference price and discuss a discount in chat.

There is nobody from my country at all. What then?

Then you are first — and everyone who comes later arrives at a shop that already exists. That is the one situation where a filled-in profile gives you not an advantage but a monopoly on local demand.

How long does this take?

Shop terms and profile: about fifteen minutes. Prices: an evening if you have a lot of cards, and that is with the bulk tool and suggested prices. After that you only add new cards.

I am not ready to ship abroad.

You do not have to. Put only your own country in your terms — that is exactly the seller a buyer wants when they do not want to wait for a parcel from the other side of the world.
