Where card prices come from
Prices on WaifuCards are not an editorial estimate. They are the median of listings collectors have up right now: every rarity in a set shows a median price, a minimum price and how many cards are on sale. While listings are scarce, a reference price per rarity is blended in so that one odd sale cannot distort the market.
How the price is calculated
Live listings are the base. Everything else only matters where data is thin.
Median, not average
A median ignores the one seller with an absurd price tag; an average would not.
Reference price per rarity
A set carries preset prices per rarity. While listings are few, the result blends them with the median; the more listings, the smaller their weight.
Seller currency
The recommendation is built from listings in the seller currency. Five local listings and the local market fully outweighs the global one.
Noise is filtered out
Listings from private or banned profiles and prices outside a sane range are excluded.
Where to check a price
Prices exist at three levels: a card, a rarity and a whole set.
A single card
Open a card in the cardlist — collector listings with prices and stock are right there.
A rarity within a set
The "About the set" tab: median price, minimum price and how many cards of that rarity are on sale.
Everything on sale
The market section lists live listings with filters by set, rarity and price.
Filter by price
Market results support a price range plus "cheapest first" and "most expensive first" sorting, so the whole spread on a card is visible.
How to price your own card
The site suggests a price but never forces it: the seller sets the final number.
- Mark the card "To sell" Only real, physical cards belong in this collection.
- Set a price The card dialog shows a recommendation — accept it or type your own number.
- Check that the listing is visible Search only shows cards that have a price on them.
Common questions
Why does the price differ from a marketplace?
These are collector-to-collector listings, without a marketplace fee or a seller logistics markup. It is an internal market price, not retail.
Which currency are prices in?
In the currency chosen in your profile settings. The recommendation relies on listings in that same currency rather than on a conversion.
Why does a card have no price?
Because nobody has listed it. A price appears as soon as the first listing with a price tag does.
Can I value my whole collection at once?
Yes: mark cards in your collection and prices attach to each entry — medians and minimums are visible per rarity.
